PILATES SYSTEM

Pilates is an exercise method created by Joseph Hubertus Pilates at the beginning of the 20th century. It is based upon a series of exercises designed to elongate, strengthen and restore the body to balance in a comprehensive way.

For this purpose we use equipment specifically designed for practising Pilates, amongst them Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Hihh Chair, etc

ROMANA’S PILATES SCHOOL

We follow the style of this particular school developed by Romana Kryzanowska, Joseph Pilates’ favoured disciple, who was actually chosen by Pilates himself to continue his legacy. This was the birth of Romana’s Pilates school.

Based in Fort Lauderdale, FL, the school is operated by Romana’s daughter, Sari, and her granddaughter, Daria.

At DE CASTRO PILATES we adhere to this method as it is the closest one to the original practices created and developed by Joseph Pilates more than a century ago.

Having studied and evolved in various schools, we have found this particular method the purest and truest to the original practice.

Pilates is a low-impact exercise method focused on strengthening core muscles, improving posture, flexibility, and balance. It’s absolutely suitable for beginners—our instructors will guide you through each movement safely and effectively, regardless of your fitness level.

No need! We provide all necessary equipment, including mats, reformers, and props. However, you’re welcome to bring your own mat or towel if you prefer.

Wear comfortable, form-fitting workout clothes that allow you to move freely. Avoid clothes with zippers or buttons. Grip socks are recommended for safety and hygiene, especially in reformer classes.

You can book classes easily through our website or mobile app. We kindly ask for at least 12 hours’ notice for cancellations to avoid being charged for the session.

Yes! All of our instructors are fully certified in Pilates and have extensive experience working with clients of all fitness levels, including those with injuries or special considerations.

We offer both! Private sessions are perfect for personalized guidance or rehab-focused training. Group classes provide a motivating and community-driven experience. Feel free to contact us to find the right fit for your goals.

Yes, our studio operates year-round. Currently, all classes are offered in English, but some of our instructors are bilingual and can accommodate French-speaking clients upon request.
